Relationship breakdown, illness, financial hardship, the loss of a loved one ….we are here to help. The RBF provides direct financial support and services that support the railway family to overcome the challenges they face through life’s journey.
We have been supporting railway staff and their families for over 160 years, originally as the Railway Benevolent Institution and more recently as the RBF.
Becoming a Trustee: Our Board of Trustees have the overall responsibility for setting the vision and strategic direction of the organisation; with a shared passion to ensure that we improve the lives of those that work or have worked in the UK and Irish Rail Industry.
Role Profile: To support RBF moving forward, we are seeking a skilled, qualified and motivated individual to join the Board of Trustees. As a member of the Board, you will play a key role in developing RBF, ensuring its sustainability, broadening its appeal and support and improving its services and governance
Applications are welcomed from those who can display:
- vision, enthusiasm, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills – the ability to influence Board decisions, and challenge and support the RBF team to meet our objectives.
- a commitment to RBF, fully supporting our charitable objects and specific focus on the railway family. Trustees are ambassadors for RBF and champion its work.
To maintain the balance of skills and experience on the Board we are particularly interested to hear from applicants with experience working in the charity sector.
The position is unremunerated although reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
