Cocktails and Candelabras!
Last week we held out 2017 Annual Dinner with the theme of Cocktails and Candelabras. Over 200 guests from within the industry joined to support our charity on the 20th October – and they did not disappoint!
We are delighted to announce that with everyone’s help we raised *drum roll* an incredible… £30k of profit!
This is a 10k growth on last year!
We wish to pay particular thanks to First for being our headline sponsor, as well as thanking Hitachi for being our programme sponsor.
We really enjoyed having Richard Salkeld as the evenings host – we think everyone who came shall agree that he (and his suit!) is hi-lari-ous! Thanks must also go to Paul Bigland for giving his time to capture the night.
We wanted to ensure everyone had fun, laughed and felt part of something important. The night saw people lemon rolling, flaming cocktails and feeding flamingos! (don’t ask!).
Those that joined us on the night were also given the fantastic news regarding an especially exciting fundraiser for next year. We heard from Vicky Binley, Nimble Media who announced the RBF Steam Celebration for our 160th Birthday! * We are overjoyed that Nimble Media are putting on this fundraiser for us.
Guests also enjoyed a speech from our CEO, Jason Tetley who gave a summary of our plans, as well as announcing our very own app launch.
Faye Jaques, Fundraising Manager; “We’ve already received really positive feedback on the night and people asking how they can book for next year! We are glad the changes we made have gone down well and we are looking forward to 2018”
So, watch this space – we shall be announcing the date for 2018 before the year is out!
* If you would like more information for the Railway Benefit Fund Steam Celebration, which Nimble Media will deliver on 3 May 2018 to mark our 160th anniversary, please contact Vicky Binley:
