How to Get Started

Our fundraising how to guide

Are you ready to start fundraising for RBF? Our How to Guide will give you all of the information you need to get going.

Step 1

The first step to starting your fundraising journey is to choose your activity. Maybe you’d like to take on a sporting challenge, host an event, or fundraise at work. Find a list of fundraising ideas and previous examples here.

Once you’ve decided on how you’d like to fundraise, it’s time to set a date for your event or challenge. Fill out the form at the bottom of this page to register your fundraising event with us, so that we can offer you support on the big day.

Step 2

The next step is to choose how to collect donations. Setting up a JustGiving page is an easy and quick way to start instantly collecting donations online, with the option to set a target for your event. However, we can also provide you with a collection tin and sponsorship form if you’d prefer to collect cash donations. Simply fill in the form at the bottom of this page to let us know what you need.

Step 3

Now that the planning is done, it’s time to spread the word! Let your friends, family and colleagues know about your fundraising challenge or event. Share on your work intranet and ask your company if they offer a matched funding scheme. Social media is a great tool to share your message and we would be happy to like and share!

Step 4

It’s time to get ready for the big day! We can send you an RBF t-shirt, leaflets and badges to support your fundraising.

If you used an online fundraising platform, then your total will come straight to us. If you collected donations in person, then take a look at our Paying in your Fundraising Guide to learn how to get your fundraising total to us.
