Million Step Team Challenge

Our Million Step Team Challenge, launched in May, perfectly timed with National Walking Month. It was an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable Railway 200 anniversary and support the railway family.
The mission was to collectively conquer one million steps throughout the month – just over 8,000 steps a day.
The exciting route begun at the historic Euston Station and culminated in the Northeast, the very birthplace of passenger rail. The participating teams virtually retraced the groundbreaking 26-mile path of the original first passenger railway from Stockton to Shildon via Darlington – a journey that forever changed the world.
We had over 30 teams compete from all across the UK rail industry. We thank Amaro, Angel Trains, Avanti West Coast, c2c , enGauged, Freightliner Group Ltd, Furrer+Frey AG, LNER, MTR Elizabeth line, Porterbrook, Railpen Railway Industry Association, RSSB and Winder Phillips Associates for their support.
