Southeastern Hosts Community Day to Mark 200 Years of Rail and Support RBF
Dover Priory Station was filled with community spirit on Saturday, July 26, as Southeastern hosted a special Community Day to celebrate 200 years of railways and raise funds for Railway Benefit Fund (RBF).
The event, led by Southeastern’s James Pickering, brought together local residents, railway enthusiasts, and families for a day of relaxed fun, engaging activities, and charitable giving. The event raised over £95.
A highlight of the day was the much loved “Name the Bear” competition, after many suggestions, the winning name, ‘Pete’, was announced. Alongside this a raffle offered fantastic prizes, all contributing directly to RBF’s mission.
The Community Day was a success, nurturing a wonderful sense of local pride and celebrating the enduring legacy of the railways in Dover while making a real, positive difference to the lives of railway people and their families through RBF.
