Attend a Railway Cinema Night with Michael Portillo!

On 2nd March at 7pm, Furrer + Frey will host a free online Railway Cinema Night as part of Wales Week London. This is a unique event to learn about the history and current importance of the railway in the region, as well as the engineering challenges in the Severn Tunnel.

The event will begin with Michael Portillo journalist, broadcaster of the Railway Journeys series and former politician, who will discuss historic rail links in Wales and the mainline to London.

Noel Dolphin, Head of UK Projects at Furrer + Frey, will discuss the current importance of rail links to Wales and the recent works to improve connectivity with the rest of the UK.

This will be followed by the historic 1959 British Transport Films short documentary Under the River, which examined the Severn Tunnel's complex construction. A short Q&A session will follow the film.

The event will be raising money for Railway Family Week and those attending will have the option to make a donation.
