Pete Waterman, OBE, Brings Making Tracks to Aberystwyth

The Vale of Rheidol Railway’s Engine Shed Museum in Aberystwyth will play host to one of the model railway world’s most spectacular attractions, Pete Waterman’s Making Tracks, a 64-foot recreation of Watford Junction and reputedly the world’s largest portable model railway.

The layout features four main lines, working signalling, and live departure boards, and forms part of a wider UK tour that gives visitors the chance not just to view the model, but to drive it.

Pete Waterman OBE, the music producer and lifelong railway enthusiast, is President of  Railway Benefit Fund.

“I have always loved the railway , it’s been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember,” said Pete Waterman OBE. “This layout represents years of hard work and dedication, and I am proud to be showcasing our model railway in Wales. Aberystwyth is a fantastic place to bring it, and I hope it inspires a new generation of railway enthusiasts as much as it means to me.”

Visitors will be able to walk the full length of the layout and take in the detail of the recreation at the museum, located at Park Avenue, Aberystwyth.
