Railway Study Network Annual Dinner raises over £3,200 For Railway Family
Railway Benefit Fund has received over £3,200 from a single evening of fundraising at the Railway Study Network Annual Dinner, held at The Kia Oval on 1 October 2026.
The charity, which supports current and former railway people and their families, was the chosen charity partner for the event. The total was raised through a raffle on the night, with prizes donated by Porterbrook, Arup, Great Western Railway (GWR) and Ashurst.
More than 200 railway professionals attended the dinner for an evening of networking, conversation and celebration. Guests heard a keynote speech from Anit Chandarana of Network Rail, and two apprentices spoke about their experiences in the rail industry and their hopes for the future, which was a highlight of the night for many.
The evening was organised by Viv Nissanka of the Railway Study Network and compered by Neil Micklethwaite, with Neil Robertson, CEO of NSAR, also taking part. The event was run by TeamBA, and volunteers from Network Rail and the House of Commons gave up their evening to help with the fundraising.
Railway Benefit Fund has already been named chosen charity for the 2027 dinner. Tickets are available to book now for the 2027 dinner.
