RBF attend Hixon train naming at Stafford

On Thursday 19th August, the Railway Benefit Fund were honoured to be invited to the train naming event for Hixon at Stafford Station. The naming was in memory of those who lost their lives in the terrible accident at the level crossing in Hixon 1968. The community in the village have maintained the memory of this event, and we are pleased to have come together with industry colleagues to reconnect them with the rail industry.

Thank you to Cross Country Trains, Network Rail, Avanti West Coast, Great Western Railway, North Staffs Community Rail, ASLEF, Railway Mission and the community of Hixon.

Also thank you to Cross Country Trains and ALSTOM for the replica plaque which we will use to raise funds to support the Railway Family going through tough times.
