The Big Rail Diversity Challenge 2026

Companies from across the UK rail industry came together at Newark Showground for Big Rail Diversity Challenge 2026, now in its eleventh year and bigger than ever.

As Women in Rail‘s flagship annual event, the Challenge remains the only team-based competition in the sector dedicated to celebrating diversity, bringing organisations together to champion inclusion, collaboration and collective purpose.

The event saw strong support from numerous key industry bodies, organisations, and charities. Railway Benefit Fund (RBF) had a great time with their ‘Bring on the Beans’ challenge, where teams navigated an inflatable obstacle course completely blindfolded, relying solely on the voices and encouragement of their teammates.

None of it would have been possible without the brilliant volunteers. Their energy, enthusiasm and dedication kept the day running smoothly, the teams motivated, and the rules intact- well, mostly! Their passion made the difference and ensured everyone had an unforgettable experience.

Signal Boost Squad, The M Group, took the win through sheer energy, heart, and non-stop support for one another, a brilliant display of camaraderie that captured everything the day was about.
